The project on responsive actions in English conversation culminated in a co-authored book entitled Grammar in Everyday Talk: Building Responsive Actions (with Sandra Thompson and Elizabeth Couper-Kuhlen). In this study we analyze the grammatical organization of responses to requests, informings, question-word interrogatives, and assessments.
