The Graduate Education Council is responsible for discussing academic policies and programs for all graduate degree programs in the College of Engineering and Applied Science. It consists of the Associate Dean for Graduate Education, the Associate Dean for Research, the Director of Graduate Programs, a faculty representative from each graduate degree-granting department and program (typically, this is the unit’s Associate Chair for Graduate Education), and a staff representative from each of these units (typically, this is one of the unit's graduate program advisors). Voting members include the Associate Dean for Graduate Education, the Associate Dean for Research,  the faculty representatives, and other members as designated by the Associate Dean for Graduate Education.
