Finals information for faculty

The STC is not a walk-in facility. Each student will need to be scheduled and confirmed by the STC before the exam day.

It is the responsibility of professors and students to discuss testing accommodations prior to submitting a testing request form. Please view our site here for additional details.

As per the student's accommodation letter, professors need to provide accommodations for 1.5x and DRE. There is limited space in our center, which must be reserved for students who require the use of the Student Testing Center (STC). A student's accommodation letter will provide specifics if they are eligible to use our center.

If you indicate a student with only 1.5x/DRE in your request and there is additional space made available after initial reservations have been made, we will reach out to you after your submission.

Exam times

The Student Testing Center (STC) will be open every day of final exams from 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

For Final Exams, the STC will have staggered start times for morning and afternoon exams.

  • Morning start times will begin between 8 a.m. and 8:45 a.m.
  • Afternoon times will begin between 1 p.m. and 1:45 p.m.

Professors will need to provide accommodations if they do not want students to use our center.

If a student has a "No Morning Exams" or a "Daytime Exam" accommodation, we will work with them separately if these times do not work for them.

More information

  • Please formulate a plan with your accommodated students prior to signing them up for exams. The STC is not a walk-in facility. All exams must be signed up in advance with a clear indication of when the student will start.

  • Please note that some accommodations may be easier to be provided by you or a TA in your class in some circumstances. This is especially true If your exam has oral or slideshow components. These exams usually require one proctor per student to accommodate. During finals, we do not have this staffing ability.

  • The STC will only proctor students who have approved testing accommodations from Disability Services. Make-up exams unrelated to testing accommodations must be provided by instructors.

  • Our final exam return policy differs from our current semester policy. If you have a large request (more than five students), OR if your exam is a Blue Book exam, please make arrangements to pick up your exams after completion (or send a departmental representative, such as a TA).

  • If your student is taking a Canvas exam, it is crucial you input the correct student data ahead of time for each accommodated student. This also includes ensuring their start time is accurate if different from the rest of the class. If a students’ Canvas exam begins and the timing is incorrect, it may affect the timing of exams for the entire day for other students. Please ensure that you create the correct time allotment for students needing a 1.5x, 2.0x, or breaks. For breaks, you must include an extra 10 minutes per hour, as allowed by their accommodation. If a password is needed, please let us know ahead of time.

  • Â鶹ÒùÔº who have accommodations that require the usage of our center will receive many notifications from us through Accommodate and email. These communications will continue leading up to the week prior to the beginning of exams.

  • Please provide as many specifics as possible when filling out the form. We want to ensure we are accommodating your exam to your exact conditions.

  • By using our center, students are confirming they will abide by the CU Honor Code as stated on our STC policies page.
