Watering Schedule Approved For Williams Village Soccer Fields Restoration Project

The soccer fields at the University of Colorado at Boulder's Williams Village housing complex are undergoing a restoration process with a new watering agreement established between the university and the city of Boulder. The project began on Aug. 28 and is expected to last four weeks.

CU-Boulder Department Of Housing To Host Annual Global Jam Sept. 12

The Department of Housing at the University of Colorado at Boulder will hold its 12th annual Global Jam smorgasbord of culturally diverse foods on Thursday, Sept. 12, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Farrand Field. According to Hall Director Holly Holliday, this year's menu will be prepared by Housing's dining services and will feature African, Spanish and American Indian foods. Some of the foods to be served will include spicy buffalo chili, roasted corn, fideos con gambas, garbonzos con cebolla, gazpacho and various other entrees.

Bob Maust, principal investigator for A Matter of Degree, a grant-supported program to reduce high-risk alcohol use, reports that students are increasingly standing up for themselves when faced with disruptive alcohol situations.

Teets Family Fellowship Awarded To CU-Boulder Engineering Student

Engineering doctoral student Michael Neylon has been selected as the first recipient of the Teets Family Doctoral Fellowship, a new endowment supporting student research in microsystems and nanosystems at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Neylon is a second-year graduate student in aerospace engineering sciences, working on research in microfluid mechanics with Professor Kamran Mohseni. His work focuses on developing and modeling microfans for microscale mixing in channels, particle separation and microprocessor cooling.
