FitWell Office Staff
Fit Well Office staff position is responsible for daily department tasks to ensure smooth and efficient function of the Fit Well department programs.ÌýThis includes front line customer service, providing support to instructors, trainers and Medical Services staff, multi-tasking and project maintenance while providing superior customer service to Recreation Services members and guests.
- Provide front line customer service in answering questions, giving directions, fielding phone calls to Rec Center patrons and guests.
- Receive Fit Well patrons as well as Medical Services patrons at the Fit Well desk, directing them to their location or providing information on the service/program they are here for.
- Welcomes and checks in all participants to all Fit Well Group Ex classes.
- Opens and clears studio in preparation for Group Fitness classes and instructional program classes.
- Supports Fit Well instructors by turning on sound system, checking microphone, moving or arranging equipment as needed for class (this includes transportation between studios and other areas of the Rec Center).
- Responsible for gathering and maintaining statistics of class attendance, daily as well as weekly.
- Responsible for gather and maintaining statistics of water fountain use in the Rec Center for sustainability purposes.
- Supports Personal Trainers by receiving clients, managing the schedule of the Fitness Assessment room and other duties as requested.
- Supports and aids Fitness Coordinator and Assistant Director of Fitness & Wellness in tasks, projects and events on an as needed basis.
- Dress in required uniform (staff shirts, nametag and closed toe shoes)
- Perform other work and duties as assigned.
- Must be currently enrolled as a student at University of Colorado taking at least 6 credits.
- Previous customer service experience preferred.
- Utilizes problem solving skills.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office suite (Xcel, Word)
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Availability to work early morning, late evening, and weekend shifts as needed.
- CPR/AED/FA certified is preferred but not required for hiring. Certification will be required within 30 days of hire date.
- Starting pay rate is $16/hour. Ìý
Group Fitness Instructor
Our Group Fitness Instructors will help to create a welcoming environment here at the rec center while providing safe and fun exercise programming for our classes. Instructors will provide group fitness classes, monitor and educate patrons on fitness while maintaining an enjoyable atmosphere for our patrons.
This position is open to students and non-students.
- Ability to create fitness programs for varying fitness levels in the group setting.
- Teaches scheduled classes, beginning and ending one time; provides adequate warm-up, exercises, stretchingÌýand cooldown.
- Instructs patrons on effective workout methods; explains proper techniques, demonstrates exercise, identifies different muscle groupsÌýand teaches appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles.
- Prepares appropriate equipment and music for each class.
- Keeps management informed of customer and facility needs.
- Consistently uphold all Recreation Services and Fitness & Wellness program policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate a greater understanding of Fitness & Wellness program opportunities and share information with customers as needed.
- Work closely with Fitness Coordinator and Assistant Director of Fitness & Wellness.
- Conduct yourself in a reliable manner in all aspects of the job.
- Exhibit creativity not only within the position, but within the entire Fitness & Wellness program.

Personal Trainer
Our Personal Trainers will help support our welcoming community here at the rec center while providing customized exercise programs for individual clients in a safe and enjoyable manner.Ìý

- Successfully create and implement exercise programs for individuals of varying fitness levels to help improve their quality of life.
- Assess current client fitness level to provide appropriate physical fitness goals and proper exercise progressions.
- Create safe and enjoyable fitness programs by providing motivating and educational feedback.
- Effectively markets my skills as a Personal Trainer using health assessments and fitness workshops to successfully grow my clientele
- Ability to work in a team environment to create successful Fitness & Wellness Programs

Tennis Instructor
Our Tennis Instructor will help support our welcoming community here at the rec center while providing group as well as private lessons for Rec Center members in a safe and enjoyable manner.

- Design class format and chart a course to teach skills within the specialty (Tennis).
- Utilize correct progressions when teaching participants skills and techniques.
- Provide students with course objectives and skill benchmarks.

F-45 Coach
FitWell is currently encouraging interested students to apply for training to become an F-45 coach. All training will be done at the Rec, which includes a 3-5 day immersive training and weekly mentorship training depending on your level of strength training experience and teaching capabilities. All coaches must attend the immersion which typically takes place the week before school starts in a given semester (Spring/Fall), and are then required to audition. Cross Fit Coach
Cross Fit Coaches provide a constantly varied, high-intensity workout to include dynamic and functional training, weight training, cardio and elements of gymnastics.
Must have a Level 1 Cross Fit Coach certification and current CPR.
