Vehicle Liaisons

The following is a description of the most common responsibilities of vehicle liaisons.

Vehicle Management/Record Keeping

  • Provide correct information for each vehicle: authorized drivers, responsible party, speedtype and changes to information.
  • Notify Transportation Services (TS) when the gas card, or other, documents are missing.
  • Notify TS when a license plate needs to be replaced.
  • Respond to preventative maintenance emails and scheduled service.
  • Ensure that employees who will be driving a university vehicle have been properly authorized.  (See Authorized Drivers)
  • Contact TS for additional requirements for vehicles with a gross vehicle weight over 10,000 pounds.

Procurement/Disposal/Registration

  • Understand procedures regarding additions and replacements to fleet.
  • Respond to emails regarding vehicle registrations or emissions.
