Moved by a performance of the 2013 Holiday Festival, one of the College of Music's and CU Presents' most popular events year after year, University of Colorado Regent Stephen Ludwig authored a poem, "Cosmic Gift," that distills some of the emotions stirred by the performance.

The program will feature presentations by Rabbi Jeffrey Summit of Tufts University and Associate Professor of Music Theory Yonatan Malin, on their work in the area of Jewish music. There also will be musical presentations from Eyal Rivlin, lecturer in Hebrew at CU, and cantors Michelle Wolf and Joe Lukasik.

James Austin named interim dean of College of Music

James Austin has been named interim dean of CU-Boulder’s College of Music, Provost Russell Moore announced today. The appointment is effective on July 1. Austin, a professor of music education, joined the College of Music in 1994. He has served as associate dean of undergraduate studies since 2006. He was the music education chair from 1997 to 2012. In 2004, the college awarded Austin the Richard Bern Trego faculty fellowship.
