An associate听professor听at the University of听Tennessee, Knoxville,听Daniel Costinett (ElCompEngr鈥�11;听MElEngr鈥�11; PhD鈥�13) received the 2022 Richard听M. Bass Outstanding听Young Power Electronics听Engineer Award from the听Institute of Electrical and听Electronics Engineers听(IEEE) Power Electronics听Society. Awards from the IEEE are among the highest honors bestowed on technical engineers worldwide, recognizing early career engineers who have made outstanding contributions to the field of power electronics. Daniels's research focuses on the detailed modeling, control and optimization of power electronics. He pushes the limits of charging efficiency to improve electric cars, medical devices and airplanes and to lower renewable energy costs.听

Anne Trujillo听Kalush听(Jour鈥�11) is the听longest-running evening news anchor in听the Denver television听market. She will retire in听November after nearly听four decades at KMGH/Denver7. 鈥淚 decided it听is time to move into a听new phase of my life,听enjoying time with my听family, pursuing personal听interests and exploring听even more opportunities听to engage with my Colorado community in new听and deeper ways,鈥� she听said. In 2019, Trujillo was听inducted into the Denver听Press Club Hall of Fame;听she鈥檚 received multiple听Emmy Awards and is a听member of the National听Academy of Television听Arts & Sciences Silver听Circles.听

Andrew Sorensen (Jour鈥�11) joined Kaiser Permanente as its senior media relations manager in May. He previously worked at CU Boulder for more than five years, most recently as assistant director of communications and spokesperson, and worked for 9NEWS as a multimedia journalist. He lives in Broomfield, Colorado.

Filmmaker, photocopier and pilot Dirk Braun (Film) made his film debut in July with his documentary, Flying Boat. Dirk鈥檚 77-minute documentary blurs the lines between fiction and nonfiction, exploring the stories of pilots and mechanics who restore, fly and maintain the last of the Grumman Albatross, an amphibious search-and-rescue aircraft created in 1947.

In his graphic novella Emotional Robots: A Question of Existence, Gregory Fass (Econ) explores what the world would look like if robots competed with humans in sports, music, art and emotional intelligence.

Twins Cara (MCDBio) and Amy Faliano (MCDBio) working in the laboratories of the UC Health System. Cara is the coordinator of laboratory safety for UCHealth in the Denver Metro area, and Amy is a lead medical laboratory scientist at UCHealth's Highlands Ranch community hospital. Ben Miller (EnvEngr; MCivEngr鈥�13) and Lynn Pruisner Miller (BioChem, ChemEngr) are proud to announce the birth of their daughter, Regan, in April 2020. They write, 鈥淩egan is an extreme CU legacy baby as many of her relatives are CU grads and will be fourth generation to attend.鈥� Her uncle and both aunts attended CU, Annie Miller (IntPhys; MS鈥�15), Nick Miller (Mktg鈥�12; MBA鈥�16) and Paige Pruisner (EnvEngr鈥�14; MCivEngr鈥�16); both grandmothers, CoLeen Pruisner (Pysch '08) and Kristi Prager Miller (Mus'81; Edu'82); paternal great-uncles Nelson Prager (Chem, ChemEngr'80; MD'84) and Frank P. Prager (ChemEngr, Engl'84) and their five children; paternal great-grandfather Frank C. Prager (ChemEngr'49) and paternal great-great aunt Betty Wise (PE'42). Ben, Lynn and Regan live in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.

Project manager Crystal Boyd (MMuSt) spent five years spearheading efforts to build the Golden Valley History Museum in Minnesota. In 2019, the exhibit received a Minnesota History Award from the Minnesota Alliance of Local History Museums. In 2020, it received a national Award of Excellence from the American Association for State and Local History. Crystal grew up in Golden Valley and now lives in Burnsville, Minnesota.

In 2011 Hayden Dansky (EBio, Phil), along with Caleb Phillips (PhDCompSci鈥�12) and Helen Katich (Geog鈥�13) founded Boulder Food Rescue after studying food waste in Boulder County. Using bicycles the team gathers soon-to-expire foods from over 40 locations and delivers them to communities in need. Hayden continues to work there as executive director, helping ensure operations throughout the pandemic. Caleb is a research scientist at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and an assistant professor at CU. Helen is interim CEO of Fresh Food Connect, which helps prevent food waste through technology.听

This year, Roshan Roghani (IntlAf) of Boise, Idaho, launched Cosmic Body, a health and beauty company featuring products made from fully renewable resources. After leaving CU, Roshan served as vice president at Camilie Beckman, a beauty care company based in Idaho.

Brett Forrest (Anth, Film) spent his summer climbing mountains, capping it off with a combination hike of Wetterhorn and Uncompahgre, two Colorado 14ers. It took him 10 hours to complete the 17-mile loop. Brett managed to climb five peaks in three days.He will be at Columbia School of Journalism this fall.

Christa Hasenkopf (PhDAtmos) is cofounder of OpenAQ, a tech nonprofit that makes real-time and historical air quality data available in any location. During her time at CU, Christa learned about the poor air quality in Mongolia, and it inspired her to use her degree for environmental justice. She went to Ulaanbaatar, the country鈥檚 capital, and began working to provide open data to its citizens, which led to the creation of OpenAQ

Brian Schroy听(Jour) is regional fight manager for the nonprofit Haymakers for Hope, which empowers men and women to learn boxing as a way to raise money for cancer research. After Brian graduated from CU, he moved to New York to work for a public relations agency specializing in outdoor sports. Three years later, he opened an action sports and lifestyle PR and marketing company, B Dot Media Group. Brian lives in Boulder.

Bruce Pelz听(EnvSt) is co-founder and U.S听president of the nonprofit Maji Safi Group, which is celebrating its five-year anniversary. The mission of the organization is听to 鈥減romote health and disease prevention in underserved and impoverished areas through holistic community empowerment and by working predominantly听with local women and youth.鈥� While attending CU, Bruce studied abroad in Tanzania and wrote an honors thesis titled 鈥淭he Future Environmental Views of Children听across Cultures and Socioeconomic Class.鈥澨鼳s part of his research, he surveyed students in five Tanzanian primary schools and two American elementary schools.

Attorney听Adrienne听Scheffey听(PolSci) joined听the Denver office of Littler,听a global employment and听labor law practice. She听previously clerked for two听years for the Hon. Rebecca Freyre of the Colorado听Court of Appeals.听

On Dec. 29, 2017,听Matthew Evett听(Ling)听and听Amanda Fendrick听Evett听(IntlAf, PolSci鈥�13)听celebrated their second anniversary. They听returned to Colorado after听living in Washington, D.C.,听post-graduation and now听live in Fort Collins. Amanda works at Colorado听State University. Matthew听works in Cheyenne as听a speech pathologist at听LifeCare.听

Last fall听George听Bryant听(MBA)听was named vice president听and general manager听of Colorado outdoor听product company Sierra听Designs. He previously听served as retail and national accounts manager听for Textron Specialized听Vehicles. He is an active听member with Colorado听Trout Unlimited. 听
