For the third time聽Paul Kasemir聽(CompSci, ElEngr, MElEngr鈥�09) competed in NBC鈥檚聽American Ninja Warrior聽competition last summer. He lives in Longmont, Colo.

CU couple聽Lara Murphy聽(Comm鈥�09) and聽Andrew Herlihy聽(PolSci鈥�09) married on Aug. 11 in Boulder. Lara works in human resources at Nordstrom and Andrew is a law student at the University of Wyoming.

On May 13聽Lara Wahl聽(Acct鈥�09) and her boyfriend miraculously survived a horrible car crash and explosion when a truck fell from an overpass onto their car as the couple was driving on Interstate 70 on their way to play tennis. The story appeared in聽The Denver Post.聽Lara says, in retrospect, they snapped into fight-or-flight mode to survive. Lara works as an auditor and lives in Avon, Colo.

After graduating from CU鈥檚 arts program,聽Julia Lamberton聽(Art鈥�09) moved to China to teach English.

After wrapping up 10 months of community service,聽Katherine Adams聽(Ling鈥�09) graduated from the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps Pacific Region. The members worked in teams throughout the U.S., and Katherine鈥檚 team provided support to Missouri and Montana residents affected by tornados and floods. She lives in Frederick, Calif.

Rakefet Megory聽(MCDBio鈥�09) and聽Matthew Orobona聽(MCDBio鈥�10) plan to get married in July. Rakefet is enrolled in the veterinary program at Colorado State University where Matthew is attending graduate school. The wedding will take place in Boulder.

Dustin Rumsey聽(Mus鈥�09) is a composer and soundtrack engineer for Boulder-based Square Two Productions while also offering private music lessons. He lives in Longmont, Colo.

Campton, Ohio, resident聽Brandon Vaccaro聽(DMus鈥�09) is an assistant music professor at Kent State University. He also spends his days as a freelance composer, audio engineer and producer.

Stephanie May Wilson (Jour鈥�10) hosts the podcast Girls Night, which has over seven million downloads. Wilson has also written a new book: , which dives into the period that she calls the 鈥淓verything Era鈥� 鈥� the weird, wonderful and wildly difficult span of years for women in their 20s and 30s. in the coming months, Wilson plans to move to Spain with her husband and twin toddlers.

Carolyn Kenney (IntlAf鈥�10) joined the聽Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) as an adjunct research staff member in the Joint Advanced Warfighting Division of IDA鈥檚 Systems and Analyses Center. IDA is a nonprofit corporation that operates three federally funded research and development centers, and answers the most challenging U.S. security and science policy questions with objective analysis. Carolyn received her master鈥檚 degree in international human rights from the University of Denver in 2014.

In January, law firm Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck promoted Zach Siegel (IntlAf, PolSci鈥�10; Law鈥�15) to shareholder. A member of the firm鈥檚 Denver real estate department, Zach leverages an understanding of his clients鈥� businesses to achieve their strategic goals. He has expertise in complex acquisitions and dispositions and leasing and development projects. His work spans asset classes including multifamily, retail, office, industrial and mixed use transactions.

Judd Shader (EthnSt鈥�10), founder and CEO of Leeds West Group, an automotive repair franchise management platform, joined the Javonte Williams Foundation鈥檚 executive advisory board. The Javonte Williams Foundation is a nonprofit dedicated to providing youth in the Denver metro area foster care system with essential resources and life-changing experiences. Judd will provide strategic direction for the foundation鈥檚 key fundraising campaign efforts. He lives in Greenwood Village, Colorado.

In late 2022, Cody Hawkins (Hum鈥�10), CU Buffs quarterback from 2007 to 2010, was named head coach of Idaho State University. He previously served six seasons as a football coach at University of California, Davis, the last three of which he was the聽 offensive coordinator.

Michelle Tamayo聽(AeroEngr鈥�10; MS鈥�10)聽has worked as a dynamics engineer at United聽Launch Alliance (ULA)聽for 10 years. She worked聽for four years on the聽integration for Boeing鈥檚聽Starliner spacecraft,聽which launched from聽ULA鈥檚 Atlas V rocket to聽the International Space聽Station in May. She also聽has spent seven years聽working on development聽for ULA鈥檚 Vulcan rocket.

Judd Shader聽(EthnSt鈥�10) is聽founder, board member and CEO of Leeds聽West Groups (LWG),聽based in Greenwood聽Village, Colorado. He聽launched the company聽from his apartment while聽a junior at CU Boulder.聽LWG is a management聽platform capitalized by聽family office funds that聽acquires, owns and manages national automotive聽repair franchise brands聽including Midas, Big O聽Tires and SpeeDee Oil in聽addition to a national real聽estate portfolio and other聽outside investments.聽Today, he has more than聽1,000 members on his聽team across 117 automotive retail locations and聽operates in 18 states.

Corbin Clement (Mktg鈥�10) is a digital analyst for the ecommerce team at Specialized Bicycle Components. The new position allows him to return to the Denver area after spending two years at Salomon鈥檚 North American headquarters in Ogden, Utah.

Two-time Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Jamie Boyle (Film鈥�10) released a feature documentary, Anonymous Sister, which premiered at Doc NYC 鈥� America鈥檚 largest documentary festival 鈥� in New York. Shot over 30 years, it tells the story of her mother and sister's opioid addiction. The film was also shown at the Denver Film Festival with an accompanying panel featuring leaders of the local and national efforts to end the opioid epidemic, including Colorado鈥檚 attorney general.

A former environmental journalist based out of Colorado and Arizona, Emery Cowan (Jour, Span鈥�10) now works as program coordinator for the Rural Voices for Conservation Coalition, nonprofit that works with collaborative conservation and natural resources policy, in Hood River, Oregon. The position closely aligns with her interest in the environment.

After several management jobs at corporations including L鈥橭real and many startup experiences, Ehsan Shariati Varnosfaderani (MElEngr) co-founded the Functionland corporation. The company provides open-source technology to help users create their own personal server.聽

Jacqui Dietrich (MBA) is head of brand, sales and marketing for Startup Space, which helps economic and small business development organizations connect entrepreneurs to resources in their communities while providing data analytics and management systems.
