After helping to develop the C-Unit, the popular student section at CU-Boulder athletic events,听Zack Shapiro听(Jour鈥�11) co-founded Luna, a company aimed at making shipping more efficient and package delivery easier. The company was acquired by Doorman, a San Francisco-based package delivery service company. Zack continues as an adviser.

After graduating,听Hamad Albarahem听(Econ鈥�11) worked at Boston Restaurant Associates, a firm that owns 21 restaurants. He then moved home to Kuwait to work for Booz and Company, a leading consulting firm. Since then Hamad started a financial management firm for restaurants called InBetween Restaurant Management. He says it is the first of its kind in Kuwait.

Aric Franzmeier听(Econ鈥�11) founded FlipTask, a website that matches personal or business-related errands posted by task posters with task runners to carry out the jobs. Tasks include picking up laundry and making copies at an office.听

The Integer Group in Lakewood, Colo., promoted听Landie Viljoen听(Mktg鈥�11) to media planner/buyer and听Kira Torgersen听(Mktg鈥�06) to senior account manager. The Integer Group is a worldwide promotional, retail and shopping marketing agency.

Sarah Berger听(BioCh鈥�12) received a five-year teaching fellowship from The Knowles Science Teaching Foundation Last fall she began teaching at Clayton Valley Charter High School in Concord, Calif.

In June听Travis Peters听(Econ鈥�11) received certificates of completion for the Diplomatic Leadership Corps, a one-time program designed by the Buckhead Coalition. It is a high-intensity, one-week introduction to business leadership and is free-of-charge to the applicants chosen. Travis lives in Boulder.

Little Forest听is a novel series self-published through Amazon by听Jessica Coleman听(Film ex鈥�11). The book takes inspiration from Jessica鈥檚 home country, England. Jessica attended CU as part of her film studies and American studies degree at the University of Sussex in England. She writes she took many literature classes at CU that inspired her and is planning her next holiday to visit Boulder again soon.

Former CU-Boulder Alumni Association student worker听Amanda Kudron听(Engl鈥�11) celebrated the completion of one year at Teach for America in May. She is a language arts teacher at West Generation Academy in Denver. She lives in Federal Heights, Colo.

Forever Buffs Student Award Winner听Daniel Omasta听(PolSci鈥�11) is land stewardship assistant at Crested Butte Land Trust. Crested Butte Land Trust works to protect and preserve open land for wildlife, recreation and ranching. Daniel lives in Boulder.

The Denver Post听飞谤颈迟别谤听Kristen Painter鈥檚 (MJour鈥�11) article 鈥淣ew era takes wing for business in Japan鈥� appeared in the June 12 issue. The story is about the first direct flight from Denver to Tokyo that took place on United Airlines in June. Beer department manager听Geoff Penley听(Mgmt鈥�11) and former Alumni Association student worker is employed at Cherry Hills Wine Shop, a small, specialty liquor store that focuses on mid-to-high-end wines and beers while offering some rare and collectible bottles as well. Geoff checks inventory, creates lists to order and meets with the representatives of liquor distributors to place orders. He lives in Boulder.

Three CU alums,听Brett Wagner听(贰苍惫顿别蝉鈥�11),听Ryan Wagner听(Aero鈥�08), and听Seamus James听(Phil鈥�10), are involved in a family business called The Bespoke Edge. The men鈥檚 clothing company operates by appointment only in northern Colorado and sells clothes nationally online through its website bespokeedge.com. Brett helped create the art direction and website for the company and lives in Boulder. His brother Ryan runs the business development side of the company and lives in Littleton, Colo. Seamus is the web developer helping build the online store and website and lives in Boulder. The Bespoke Edge was started by Brett and Ryan鈥檚 father in fall 2012.

Born and raised in Aspen, Colo.,听Bo Gallagher听(Soc鈥�11) returned to his hometown to start his own silk screening business, Zapazoo Inkworks. The business reaches the small yet influential communities of the Roaring Fork Valley, including Glenwood Springs, Carbondale, Basalt and Aspen. Bo lives in Basalt, Colo.

Boulder resident听Courtney Harkins听(Engl鈥�11) appeared in the Nov. 17 issue of the听Daily Camera听celebrating the 50th anniversary of Eldora Ski Resort. 鈥淚t鈥檚 pretty incredible that there is a ski resort here and that everything is so close and so easy,鈥� Courtney told the听颁补尘别谤补.听鈥淎nd it gives me an excuse to wear as much retro gear as I can this year.鈥�

On Sept. 2听Elisa Levinson听(Asian鈥�11) married Shannon Martin of Houston. The happy couple lives in Haifa, Israel, while Shannon is attending medical school.

Before graduating听尝补耻谤别苍听Bader听(IntlAf鈥�11) wrote her senior thesis about sport and development in Africa titled 鈥淔ootball and Community Building in Africa.鈥� Since graduating Lauren has been interning with the CTC TEN foundation in Khayalitsha, South Africa. The foundation runs sport and education programs at a soccer field.

鈥淲e鈥檙e getting ready for CU vs. CSU over here in Afghanistan this week,鈥澨�Alex Banks听(PolSci鈥�11) wrote in August. Alex is a second lieutenant located in the northern Helmend Province of Afghanistan along with two other Buffs. One of Alex鈥檚 classmates,听T.J. Perna听(EnvSt鈥�10), is serving in the south with a different unit. The four Marines participated in the NROTC program while they were in Boulder.听

Denver Human Services announced听Jeffrey Holliday听(MBA鈥�11) as the agency鈥檚 deputy manager of protection and prevention services. Jeffrey has more than 20 years of experience in the realm of child welfare in the public and private sectors. He oversees Denver鈥檚 child protective services, foster care services, child abuse hotline, Family Crisis Center, youth services and community programs.

Broomfield, Colo., resident听Brandon Parker听(MCivEngr鈥�11) joined JVA, a structural and civil engineering firm headquartered in Boulder, and works as a design engineer in the company鈥檚 structural department at the Boulder office.
