Scholarships

Veteran and Military Affairs currently offers scholarships to current students at CU Boulder. Information regarding the scholarships can be seen below. You may apply for multiple scholarships, but students can only receive one scholarship.

VMA Veteran Scholarship

The VMA Veteran Scholarship is $3000 scholarships annually. To be eligible, students must be honorably discharged from the military, must have cumulative GPA of 2.75, be accepted as a full-time degree seeking student at CU, must have completed at least one full time semester at CU Boulder.

Number of available scholarships: 10

The application for 2024-2025 is due July 1, 2024 and students will be notified if they have been chosen for the scholarship in late July. 

OJ Harvey Veteran Scholarship

The OJ and Mary Christine Harvey Veteran Scholarship is a renewable scholarship is $5000 each. To be eligible, students must be honorably discharged from the military, must have cumulative GPA of 2.75, be enrolled as an undergraduate student at CU and must have completed at least 12 semester hours at CU Boulder. Number of available scholarships: 5

The application for 2024-2025 is due July 1, 2024 and students will be notified if they have been chosen for the scholarship in late July. 

James D. and Margaret Carpenter Scholarship

The James D. and Margaret Carpenter Scholarship is a $5000 scholarship. To be eligible, students must be veterans, active duty, reserve, national guard, and/or dependents, must have cumulative GPA of 2.75, be enrolled as an undergraduate student at CU and must have completed at least 12 semester hours at CU Boulder. Number of available scholarships: 2  -Scholarship recipients for this scholarship may not receive the funds until January 2025.

The application for 2024-2025 is due July 1, 2024 and students will be notified if they have been chosen for the scholarship in late July. 

McMahon USMC Scholarship

The McMahon USMC Scholarship is a $3000 scholarship. To be eligible, students must be honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps, must have cumulative GPA of 3.0, be enrolled as an undergraduate student at CU and must have completed at least 12 semester hours at CU Boulder. The application for 2024-2025 is due July 1, 2024 and students will be notified if they have been chosen for the scholarship in late July. 

Exhausted Benefits Scholarship

Veteran and Military Affairs awards up to $2000 scholarships to veteran students that do not have eligibility under any VA benefit program, including the STEM extension. To be eligible, students must be enrolled in their final term to complete their degree program, and must have cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher. This scholarship may be awarded only once, and will apply toward tuition and fee costs only.

Priority application deadline is July 1, 2024. Â鶹ÒùÔº that apply after this date will still be considered for awards.
