Entrepreneurial Training

Entrepreneurship is the key to unlocking global impact by bringing innovations to market through new startups. As a key leader of the National Science Foundation's I-CorpsTM Hub: West Region, Venture Partners at CU Boulder provides entrepreneurial training for anyone from a research or community institution motivated to bring their ideas to life, secure funding and create lasting impact.

For researchers, inventors and creators at the University of Colorado Boulder, Denver (except CU Denver investigators in the biosciences, who should work with ) and Colorado Springs campuses, Venture Partners is a key partner in starting a company on campus and taking it to market.

Venture Partners Entrepreneurial Programming

The National Science Foundation's I-Corps programs are designed to help reduce the time and risk of taking promising ideas and technologies to the marketplace. Programming is particularly designed for new entrepreneurs and those taking their first steps out of the university and into the market. Anyone from a research or community institution, including those outside the CU System, is welcome.

Deep tech startups, or new companies based on technological innovation in science or engineering, face unique challenges because of their disruptive nature, intensive research and development, and significant capital requirements. Ascent is an accelerator for research teams building deep tech startups coming out of the University of Colorado campuses in Boulder, Colorado Springs and Denver.

But what is "commercialization?"

The path to commercialization—also known as "research translation" or "tech transfer"—can be challenging, and Venture Partners is here to help by uniting industry partners, entrepreneurs and investors to help researchers, inventors and creators at the University of Colorado bring their groundbreaking discoveries into the marketplace.
