Amy is the director of venture development at Venture Partners at CU Boulder. In her role, she leads venture development initiatives, manages Venture Partners’ mentor and investor networks, leads Destination Startup and co-runs the Embark Deep Tech Startup Creator with Marta Zgagacz.
Before becoming director of venture development, Amy was assistant director of licensing and director of the Lab Venture Challenge. She joined Venture Partners after a 10-year career at Cooley and Chadbourne & Parke (now Norton Rose Fulbright) practicing patent law and advising startup companies on overall intellectual property strategy. Amy came to Venture Partners looking for a way to get more involved with helping startups and fostering innovation. She enjoys working with innovators and entrepreneurs to get their technologies into the market.
Amy graduated from Brown University—with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and master’s degree in innovation management and entrepreneurship engineering—and Fordham University School of Law. She is admitted to practice law in Colorado and New York and registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Amy loves spending time outdoors with her family. She is an avid hiker, camper, snowboarder, snowshoer and will ride her bike to any opportunity that includes pastries or ice cream.
