Twelve teams of University of Colorado faculty, researchers and graduate student innovators competed for a combined $1.25M in startup funding grants in this year’s Lab Venture Challenge. Judges from CU Boulder’s entrepreneurial network heard pitches in biosciences, physical sciences and engineering.

Vitro3D, a CU Boulder startup pioneering volumetric 3D printing for life sciences, just closed its first investment round of $1.3 million. The hard-won vote of confidence from the investment community will allow the promising new venture to pursue ambitious technical advances while continuing to build critical business capacity.

A global quantum ecosystem leader, ColdQuanta's product portfolio for commercialization includes quantum computing, quantum algorithms, atomic clocks, sensors and components—all of which have a wide range of applications in communications, radio frequency (RF) technologies and more.

The Department of Energy has awarded $400 million for research into clean energy technologies and low-carbon manufacturing through 43 Energy Frontier Research Centers (EFRCs), six of which feature 13 Renewable and Sustainable Energy Institute (RASEI) members.
