Overview

The Possible Zone (TPZ), a non-profitÌýorganization providing after-school and summer programming to youth in the Cambridge, MA area,Ìýoffers a Build a Better Book-themed Deep Dive intensive workshop, in which participants create tactile and accessible materials with STEAM and Maker technologies. TPZ held its pilot program in Spring 2023, with a focus on the design of more accessible museum exhibits. Working in collaboration with the Boston Museum of Science, 13 interns explored exhibits' current barriers to access and developed prototypes of improved exhibit components. After completing the Deep Dive, interns may continue to developÌýtheir projects with an entrepreneurial track in Fall 2023 that will explore bringingÌýinitial designs toÌýfinal production and marketing.
