FAQs

The CU Boulder Arts & Sciences Curriculum Committee approved the undergraduate certificate in Social Innovation in April 2017. The Academic Affairs Advisory Committee approved the certificate program in July 2017.

Designing Social Innovations (SOCY 4160) will be offered every fall semester beginning in the 2017/2018 academic year.  Executing Social Innovations (SOCY 4161) will be offered every spring semester beginning in the 2017/2018 academic year.

The two required courses (SOCY 4160 and SOCY 4161) do not have any prerequisites.  However, they must be taken in sequence.

The required and elective courses must be satisfied through courses taken on the CU Boulder campus.

Questions about the certificate program is structured and implemented should be directed to the program director, Don Grant. Questions related to scheduling courses to accommodate certificate requirements should be directed towards your academic advisor in your home (major) department.
