Systems and Control
Systems and control is a multidisciplinary field that focuses on the behavior and regulation of dynamic systems. Systems are often optimized for stability, performance, or other desired outcomes through computational and/or mathematical techniques. This field blends principles from engineering, mathematics, computer science, and physics to analyze, design, and implement systems that can autonomously respond to changes in their user commands, environment or internal state.
The term "systems" refers to the analysis of the interconnected components that interact within a system or the resulting system as a whole, while "control" refers to techniques used to manipulate the behavior of the system.
Courses in this area present a variety of theories on system analysis, design and control and equip students with the knowledge to apply fundamental principles to a wide range of areas such as robotics, aerospace, automation, and finance.
