Brenda Romero wins book contract
Associate Professor of Musicology Brenda Romero is the recipient of a book contract for the Folklore Studies for a Multicultural World Series, a Mellon initiative with the American Folklore Society, the University of Illinois Press, University of Wisconsin Press, and University of Minnesota Press. A national competition, they chose 6 authors. Her proposal The Transcultural Matachines, Creativity and Renewal in the Americas was one of only six selected. It will be published by the University of Illinois Press.
