The mission of the Immersive Media Lab (IML) is to accelerate innovation in the field of immersive media. The lab serves as a teaching, research and creative practice space for faculty and students. The IML brings together an interdisciplinary team and facilitates the integration of immersive technologies into their research, creative work and commercial applications.

The lab also functions as a high-impact teaching space. Providing extended reality tools for faculty and students to utilize during coursework, research presentations and workshops. In addition, it serves as a point of connection for community organizations and students who plan to produce projects outside of the classroom.

Faculty, staff and students from the IML participate in outreach on the local and national level through tours, speaking engagements and emerging technology demonstrations.
