Lawrence (Lance) Batch was an MS student with Dr. Linden from 2000-2002 at Duke University. His research investigated water quality impacts on UV disinfection of MS2 virus in filtered water supplies. He went on to work as an engineer at NAVFAC Naval Engineering, in San Diego, CA.

She is passionate about wastewater research her thesis focused on characterization of fracking wastewater from oil and gas operations. Christopher Poepping was a graduate student with Dr. Linden from 2011-2013 and graduated with a MS in Environmental Engineering. Tara is a M.S. student in Environmental Engineering with a certificate in Global Engineering. Her current research investigates UVLED disinfection technology for wastewater reuse in water scarce settings. Prior to CU Boulder, she received her B.S. from the University of California Davis where she studied non-chemical soil disinfection techniques. Hannah Saunders graduated with a MSPH in Environmental Virology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, co-advised by Dr. Linden. She researched UV disinfection of adenovirus in water. After graduation, she went on to work as an Microbiologist with the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. Currently, she is a R&D Staff Scientist with Thermo Fisher Scientific.

Nilesh Shringapure was a graduate student with Dr. Linden from 2001-2004 and graduated with a MS in Environmental Engineering. Cole Sigmon was a graduate student with Dr. Linden from 2008-2011 and graduated with a MS in Environmental Engineering. Emily Spangler was a graduate student with Dr. Linden from 2013-2015 and graduated with a MS in Civil Engineering in 2015. During her time at the University of Colorado Boulder she researched urine disinfection and advanced oxidation processes and toxicity assays. After graduation, she went on to work as an engineer for Arup in London.

Kate completed her B.S./M.S. dual degree in Environmental Engineering and a Certificate in Engineering for Developing Communities in 2018. In collaboration with researchers at Duke University and with support from AAUW, she conductied research about the use of biochar for odor control in latrines. She is most passionate about water, sanitation, and hygiene in rural developing communities. A Colorado native, she enjoys mountain adventure activities during all seasons.
