1164 W. Dillon Road

CU Boulder has purchased the property at 1164 W. Dillon Road in Louisville (at the junction of U.S. 36 and McCaslin Boulevard), previously home to a Cinebarre movie theater. Campus’s intention for the property is to build a transit-oriented mixed use development that includes housing for faculty, staff and possibly graduate students.

A comprehensive plan for development is expected to be completed by December 2025. CU Boulder will continue to engage campus constituents, community members and City of Louisville leaders as plans for the site take shape.

Building Efficiency Project

This project will conduct facilities improvement measures to 18 buildings on Main Campus. Projected annual utility savings are estimated at $352,000 with an additional $25,000 in operational savings. Annual carbon dioxide (CO2) savings are projected at 2,226 metric tons.

West District Energy Plant (WDEP)

This heavily used auxiliary facility, which provides heat and cooling to most of the main campus, is being upgraded to extend its life and improve its efficiency. The improvements, which call for replacing a pair of combustion turbines, installing nitrogen oxides (NOx) reduction equipment and retiring one of the plant’s boilers, will reduce the plant’s NOx emissions by over 50% and carbon emissions by 5%, extending the usable life of the plant while campus works toward transitioning to a carbon-neutral future.
