From commercial development to telecommunication to software and hardware start-ups, John Svoboda is an organizational leader and serial entrepreneur with wide-ranging experience. John has owned, founded or been a principal with four Colorado-based technology-driven start-ups.
Across his 25 years of experience John has held lead roles in business development, finance, project management, marketing, strategic partnerships and technology development. John served as lead project manager and owner’s representative to Fortune 500 clients on major commercial construction projects across the United States. Prior to that he was a design architect on commercial and industrial projects.
John joined the EMP faculty 6 years ago and has taught a variety of subjects including project management, marketing, microeconomics and entrepreneurship. He continues to own and operate a passion business manufacturing and marketing titanium bicycles. John is also the Marketing Manager for the EMP.
John holds an MS from the College of Engineering at CU, an MBA from UCLA and a BA in Architecture from U.C. Berkeley. He is a Patent-holding inventor.
In addition to snowboarding and modifying cars, John relishes getting on a bike for most any reason. He mountain bikes, volunteers as a patroller, plays bike polo, bikepacks into the wilderness and has toured across 25+ states and 15+ countries
