Computer Science & ME-EM Dual Degrees
Complement your Computer Science Master’s Degree with Engineering Management… To complete the Computer Science & Engineering Management dual degree program, you must be admitted to both the Engineering Management Program and the Computer Science Program. Dual degrees are issued at the same time at graduation (you cannot receive one degree before the other; however, you may complete the requirements for one degree before the other).
Dual Degree Requirements
The dual degree consists of 45 total credit hours:
- 21 credit hours from the Engineering Management Program (EMP)
- 24 credit hours from the Computer Science Program*
*The 24 credits required are at the discretion of the Computer Science department and may not need to all come from CSCI coursework. Please consult the Computer Science department to confirm requirements for the degree of interest.
Current Requirements (starting Fall 2022)
- EMEN 5015: Engineering Communication (Previously EMEN 5830: Special Topics)
- EMEN 5020: Finance for Engineering Managers
- EMEN 5030: Project Management OR EMEN 5405: Fundamentals of Systems Engineering
- EMEN 5050: Leading Oneself
- Three EMEN elective courses; EMEN 5000 does not count towards the Engineering Management degree requirements
When completing the ME Engineering Management degree candidacy application for graduation, in addition to the 21 EMEN credit hours, students will need to include 9 Computer Science credit hours to make the 30 total credit hours required to complete the ME Engineering Management degree.
