Dr. Steven L. Tuck
Professor and Chair of Classics at Miani Ohio University
HUMN 150 at 5:30 pm
Amphitheaters like the Colosseum at Rome were the greatest entertainment venues in the RomanÌýworld. Their decoration was designed to reinforce both the activities withinÌýthe structure such as animal hunts andÌýprisoner executions and the valueÌýsystems behind them while enhancing the experience for spectators. This lectureÌýexamines the decorative programs of the Colosseum and its sister amphitheatersÌýat Capua and Puteoli.
This event is free and open to the public.
