Trump says he is a nationalist and globalist. And he is. But he envisions a globalism rooted in nationalism not a globalism that replaces nationalism. Professor Nau, a former White House official in the Ronald Reagan presidency, offers a constructive understanding of Trump's foreign policy that draws from his scholarly work on the US foreign policy traditions of nationalism, realism, liberal and conservative internationalism.
