CU Boulder style is to omit periods from abbreviations of academic degrees (BA, BS, MA, PhD, MBA, JD).

When spelling out degrees, lowercase bachelor’s degree, master’s degreeÌý²¹²Ô»å doctorate; but capitalize Bachelor of Arts, Master of Science, Juris Doctor, etc.
