Academic Plan & Requirements

The certificate in social responsibility and ethics is available only to undergraduate business students at CU Boulder. To earn the certificate, students must sign up by the end of their junior year and complete:

  • 6 credit hours in philosophy, environmental studies, political science, economics, communication, civil engineering or sociology
  • 9 credit hours in business courses
  • Experiential learning requirement; options include: 
    • Internship at an organization (for-profit or nonprofit)
    • Service learning through the Education Abroad office
    • Related coursework
  • A personal reflection and statement of purpose
