Certificate in Medieval & Early Modern Studies

Our students become well-rounded critical thinkers who understand how studying the medieval and early modern periods can complement a study of period, nation, language and discipline, and who are well prepared to launch careers in business, diplomatic service, government, publishing or academia.

Our undergraduate certificate in medieval and early modern studies allows students to cross boundaries of period, nation, language and discipline while gaining insight on the period from circa 400 to circa 1800 in a global context. With an interdisciplinary approach, students are encouraged to explore interdepartmental study while customizing their certificate programs to their interests.

Academic Plan & Requirements

Â鶹ÒùÔº must complete at least 24 credits of approved coursework, including multiple history of world art courses and several humanities courses.

Â鶹ÒùÔº who pursue the undergraduate certificate in medieval and modern studies are free to take a variety of courses offered in numerous departments across the CU campus. Â鶹ÒùÔº can tailor the certificate to meet their intellectual interests in the study of premodern Europe and its global influence.
