CU-Boulder Revises Number Of Suspended Â鶹ÒùÔº From Four To Three

The number of University of Colorado at Boulder students who were summarily suspended following a Sept. 8 disturbance on University Hill has been revised from four to three, the Office of Judicial Affairs announced today. The revision was made because of a case of mistaken identity. A woman who was arrested in connection with the disturbance had the same first and last name as a CU-Boulder student. The CU-Boulder student was not involved in the disturbance.

Upon receiving additional information from the Boulder Police Department, the University of Colorado at Boulder has summarily suspended two more students following a party last night in the University Hill area that Boulder police broke up at about 12:30 a.m. this morning. The action was taken by the CU-Boulder Judicial Affairs office, said Ron Stump, vice chancellor for student affairs. Two students were summarily suspended earlier today by the university for their roles in the disturbance.

Two students at the University of Colorado at Boulder are being summarily suspended today following a party in the University Hill area of Boulder hosted by CU students last night that Boulder police broke up at about 12:30 a.m. on Sept. 8. According to Andrea Goldbum, director of Judicial Affairs at CU-Boulder, "Two students have been identified for summary suspension" for their roles in the early Friday morning disturbance. A third student may also be suspended pending further review.

CU4K12 at www.colorado.edu/cu4k12 is a comprehensive outreach and in-service program guide for Colorado elementary, middle and high school teachers and students. It provides access to 174 CU-Boulder outreach programs, campus resources, professional development services and Internet resources for research.

Paul Stewart Lecture For Center Of The American West

Former Member Of CU Design Review Board, Hideo Sasaki, Dies At Age 80

Hideo Sasaki a long-time friend and consultant to the University of Colorado died last week from cancer at the age of 80. Sasaki, a resident of Lafayette, Calif., was a member of CUÂ’s four-member design review board for 33 years. His affiliation with the university began in July of 1960 when his firm, Sasaki Associates Inc., was retained as landscape architecture consultants.

"Buffalo Racing" Car Show

The car show will feature all types of street and race cars -- exotic and classic, foreign and domestic. Awards will be given at the end of the show. The event also will include a silent auction, food and T-shirt sales. Proceeds will benefit the project race car of the CU chapter of the Society of Automotive Engineers, which will be on display at the show. The event is co-sponsored by the CU department of mechanical engineering and Checker Auto Parts.

Long-Term River And Lake Ice Records Show Warming Trend In Northern Hemisphere

An historical survey of rivers and lakes in the Northern Hemisphere during the past 150 years shows they have been thawing earlier and freezing later each year, an indication the temperate regions of the world have been warming.

CU-Boulder Hires Consultant For South Campus Conceptual Plan

Shapins Associates of Boulder was selected by the University of Colorado Board of Regents today to begin work on a conceptual land-use assessment for the CU-Boulder South Campus. The assessment will address environmental, floodplain, transportation, utility and other infrastructure issues and will include conditions and mitigation processes that will define appropriate land uses for the property. CU-Boulder's 308-acre South Campus, located west of U.S. 36 and south of Table Mesa Drive, was purchased by the university in 1996 to meet future campus needs.
