The Colorado economy continues to expand, outperforming the U.S. economy, according to a midyear economic update released July 15 by the Leeds School's Business Research Division (BRD). Employment in the state was up by 2.4 percent in May 2016. A total gain of 62,000 jobs in Colorado is expected for 2016, nearly reaffirming the estimate given in December at the BRD's 51st annual Business Economic Outlook Forum .

CU Boulder is one of four member universities whose research expertise recently was selected for funding to look into student-athlete health and well-being.

With interests as diverse as the countries where they'll be located, five CU Boulder graduate students or alumni have been awarded Fulbright grants to pursue teaching, research and graduate studies for the 2016-17 academic year. CU-Boulder Provost Russell L. Moore today announced the appointment of James (Jim) Anaya, a Regents’ Professor and James J. Lenoir Professor of Human Rights Law and Policy at the University of Arizona, as dean of the law school. Anaya will begin his duties on Aug. 8, 2016. Anaya’s teaching and writing focus on international human rights and issues concerning indigenous peoples.
