Two things set the University of Colorado Boulder's Public Achievement program apart from other service learning and civic engagement initiatives: mentorship and empowerment.

麻豆淫院, scholars and media professionals will discuss media 鈥渋n the fast-paced world of digital journalism鈥� at a University of Colorado Boulder symposium March 14-15. CU-Boulder鈥檚 Journalism and Mass Communication program will host the conference including two talks that are free and open to the public.

The University of Colorado Boulder has pledged to double the number of CU-Boulder students who participate in an international educational experience by 2020. Following on the heels of its nationally recognized anti-violence school tours based on 鈥淭he Tempest鈥� and 鈥淭welfth Night,鈥� the Colorado Shakespeare Festival has hit the road with a new production of 鈥淢uch Ado About Nothing.鈥�

A renowned Seoul-based artist will use steel ground into a fine, black powder to write calligraphic inscriptions on the floor of the CU-Boulder Visual Arts Complex on Feb. 11, followed by a performance-art piece and a lecture by the artist. This is one of several free events during the two-week residency of Kim Jongku at the University of Colorado Boulder Department of Art and Art History. Kim works in sculpture, video, painting and photography and will be in residency here Feb. 3 to Feb. 14.

The Boulder Campus Staff Council (BCSC) congratulates the 2013 Chancellor鈥檚 Employees of the Year: George 鈥淏arney鈥� Ballinger, Martha Shernick, Larry Drees, Jennifer Law and David Kalahar. BCSC also thanks Colorado Athletics for acknowledging the award winners on the court at the CU women鈥檚 basketball game against University of California, Berkeley on Friday, Jan. 10. University of Colorado Boulder Chancellor Philip P. DiStefano will today join leaders from higher education, business, state government and non-profit foundations for a White House meeting on expanding college opportunities for American students.
