WelcomeFest 2024 lineup announced—Tobi Lou to headline
Following the success of last year's performance, Program Council is thrilled to once again announce the lineup for the annual WelcomeFest concert on Farrand Field. Hip-hop artist Tobi Lou will be headlining WelcomeFest this year, supported by D Smoke, as well as local openers Charlie Wonder, Arixx, Eso, DJ Hami and DJ Vac.

WelcomeFest 2024
Doors will open at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, on Farrand Field with local openers for the concert kicking off performances shortly after doors open. D Smoke is expected to perform shortly after 7:30 p.m., with Tobi Lou set to perform around 9 p.m.
Admission is free to all current CU Boulder students who provide their Buff OneCard at wristband locations, including first-year students, transfer students, returning students, graduate students and law students.
Wristbands will be distributed Aug. 24 at four locations starting at 11 a.m., including the northeast corner of Farrand Field, the UMC Arcade, Kitt Central Multipurpose Rooms and Village Center atrium. Wristbands are required for entry to the event. Wristbands are limited, and ticketing locations may close at different times throughout the day.

The WelcomeFest concert is one of Program Council’s most exciting and anticipated events, serving as a highlight to Fall Welcome festivities each year and providing an opportunity for new and returning students alike to celebrate the start of the year in community with fellow students.
Tobi Lou is a Nigerian-born, Chicago-raised hip-hop artist. His unique sound and aesthetic draws from his love of film and animation. In 2019, Tobi Lou released his debut album, “Live on Ice,” which was met with critical acclaim for its innovative production and introspective lyrics. The album features tracks like “Buff Baby” and “Waterboy,” which highlight his ability to blend humor with heartfelt storytelling.
Throughout his career, Tobi Lou has collaborated with a variety of talented artists, including Smino, Young Thug, Chief Keef and DRAM, among many others. Recently, Tobi Lou has received notable praise for his albums “Non-Perishable” and “Decent” from several respected publications. Clash Magazine highlighted “Non-Perishable” as a pivotal moment in his career, praising its innovative production and Tobi Lou’s ability to tackle heavy subjects with a carefree style.
D Smoke is an acclaimed rapper, songwriter and former high school Spanish teacher. His music stands out for its bilingual lyrics and socially conscious themes, reflecting his educational background and community roots.
Following his victory on “Rhythm + Flow,” D Smoke released his debut EP, “Inglewood High,” and the Grammy-nominated album “Black Habits” in 2020. His latest album “War & Wonders” continues to showcase his lyrical prowess and innovative sound. Among D Smoke's most popular tracks are “Gaspar Yanga” featuring Snoop Dogg, with around 29 million streams, and “Black Habits II,” with approximately 26 million streams on Spotify.
