Welcome back from spring break, Buffs! This week brings a housing fair for international students, free coffee and brownies, chancellor selection forums, the music of Harry Styles and Queen, sexual health trivia and more.

Monday, April 1

  9–10:30 a.m.    UMC Aspen Rooms 
April is Financial Fitness Month at CU! During this kickoff event, attendees will get free swag, meet financial representatives and more. 

  2 p.m.    UMC North Dining Room 
Stop by the UMC for a taste of sweetness, including yummy Arnold Palmers and chocolate brownies. 

  3–5 p.m.    UMC 425
International students are invited to a fair, presented by the Basic Needs Center and other on-campus organizations, that will cover housing options and finding roommates.


Tuesday, April 2

  5–10 p.m.    Kittredge Field, Middle and South fields
Intramural Sports is hosting a cricket tournament! If you’re an avid cricket player, or have some experience playing the sport, you are invited to attend and share your knowledge with fellow Buffs. 

  7–9 p.m.    The Connection
How’s your poker face? Test your luck with a poker tournament at The Connection! Prizes are awarded to top finishers. 

  7:30 p.m.    Muenzinger Auditorium (E050)
Mike Plante, Sundance Institute’s senior programmer for short films, is visiting CU for a free show. Attendees will enjoy a 90-minute theatrical program of seven short films from the Sundance Film Festival. 

Be a part of the new chancellor selection process

The fall semester will kick off with a new chancellor. All students are invited to attend an open forum on April 4 and enjoy free pizza and soda, from 5–6 p.m. at the UMC Aspen Rooms. (Faculty and staff will have separate timeslots at 8 a.m. and 9:15 a.m., respectively.)

  9 a.m.–noon,    Outside of ATLAS Center and CU Art Museum
As a way to promote zero waste initiatives, the Environmental Center is giving away free coffee to Buffs who bring their own mug! 

  11 a.m.–4 p.m.    UMC Glenn Miller Ballroom 
Don’t miss the final career fair of the year! CU students and alumni of all majors are welcome to attend the event. 


Thursday, April 4

  8:30 a.m.–5 p.m.    UMC
Learn how to help someone struggling with mental health issues during this first aid training. Participants will learn about risk factors, warning signs and more. 

  12:30–1:30 p.m.    C4C 336C
Spend time with fellow students who identify as LGBTQ+ people of color. 

  2–4 p.m.    Wardenburg Student Health Center
Test your knowledge of sexual health at this trivia session. Free supplies available. 

  4–5 p.m.    UMC Gaming Lounge
Celebrate Arab-Americans in gaming! Participants will also have the option to try board games and card games created by Arab-American and MENA artists.

  4–6 p.m.    UMC 235
Join this all-industries networking night to connect with recruiters and alumni in various companies and organizations. Sign up on Handshake.

Friday, April 5

  7:30 p.m.    Macky Auditorium   $24–$94
An American roots music group based in Austin, Texas, is performing at Macky Auditorium. The band has won 10 Grammy awards and collaborated with icons such as Dolly Parton. 

  8:30–9:30 p.m.    Fiske Planetarium   $8–$12
Take a trip to Harry’s House at Fiske Planetarium. There will be captivating visuals and full surround sound.

As part of Animation Appreciation Week, the International Film Series is showing a Japanese erotic animated musical. 


Saturday, April 6

  8 a.m.–4 p.m.    Clear Creek   $85 
Try out top-rope climbing at a local crag. The pre-trip meeting is April 4 from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Ice Rink Overlook Medium Meeting Room in the Rec.

The West African Highlife Ensemble is having their spring concert. Available in person or via livestream.
