The semester is coming to an end. Whether you're graduating this semester, or just preparing for a well-deserved break, check out some activities campus has to offer before you go!

This week brings zen garden building, showings of “Fight Club” and “Scrooged,”creature creation, meditation and art, Late Night Breakfast, a coffee hour for queer and trans grad students, Season of Light at Fiske and more.

Take a study break at The Center for Student Involvement’s Resource Center. Create a free mini DIY zen garden with rocks, a sandbox, sand and a rake.

7:30–8:30 p.m.Fiske Planetarium
Members and friends of the CU Physics Department are putting on a show! There will be an a capella group, peaceful chamber music, dome projections and more.

For day six of 9 Days of ’90s,by the International Film Series, “Fight Club” is being shown. It reflects on a hyper-masculine society and how it may perpetuate problems. Although the film has faced many critiques over the years, it appears to grow in relevance over time.


Tuesday, Dec. 12

What’s one way to de-stress? Puppies! Stop by the Rec for some much needed downtime with therapy dogs.

Sometimes taking part in a hands-on activity can help you de-stress. Create your own mini stuffed animal in the UMC.

Free Finals Week at The Rec

The Rec is hosting free fitness classes and activities during finals week. This includes free bouldering and skate rentals

The Grotto is giving out a free breakfast food package including yogurt, a burrito, cereal and fruit. Stay fueled for finals!

12:15–12:45 p.m.CU Art Museum
At Feel Good Friday Meditation, attendees learn about a work of art and take part in a mindfulness practice.

Program Council is showing “Scrooged” for free! It centers around the main character, played by Bill Murray, as he gets haunted by three Christmas Eve ghosts as a television executive.


Saturday, Dec. 16

Learn about the astronomical meanings of seasonal tradition during this show at Fiske Planetarium. You will also learn about a variety of cultural and religious traditions that take place during the holidays.

Colorado Skies: The Winter Solstice
