Welcome, new and returning Buffs! Kick off the new school year with a ton of welcoming events around campus. We are happy to have you.Ìý

This week brings free breakfast goodies, the Be Involved Fair,Ìýa CU ghost tour, a meet-up for Buffs who like winter sports, anÌýinfo session on SNAP benefits, a celebration of first-gen students, a bike fest and more.

Aug. 28, 29 10 a.m.–1 p.m.Ìý Norlin Library
University Libraries is here to help new Buffs! The university's 600 acre-long campus can be intimidating at first, but you are sure to get the hang of it. The tent will be stacked with friendly librarians and maps and handouts to help you navigate both the libraries and campus.

11 a.m.–3 p.m.Ìý UMC, South Terrace Tent
The Senior Class Council is partnering with the Center for Student Involvement this Monday as a way to welcome students back to campus. Stop by the UMC tent for free iced coffee, chai and breakfast pastries.

8–9 p.m.Ìý Macky Auditorium front steps
When it comes to ghosts and spirits, CU has a long history with the supernatural. New students are invited to an evening of scary stories and a CU ghost tour. Have a personal ghost story you’d like to share? Story-sharing is welcomed at the end of the tour.


Tuesday, Aug. 29

4–5 p.m.Ìý UMC 235
Colorado is a great place for snow sports. If you like skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing or ice climbing, this meet-up is for you! Other snow sport-interested Buffs will be there to connect with you, and you may even make a friend to shred down the mountain with.


Wednesday, Aug. 30

2–6 p.m.Ìý Farrand Field
CU has plenty of opportunities for students to get involved, from volunteering to campus jobs, student organizations and more. Check out the Be Involved Fair and learn more about different involvement opportunities. You may even find a new passion or hobby!Ìý

4–6 p.m.Ìý UMC 247
SNAP, or the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, helps low-income households in Colorado purchase food. Based on their income, students can get EBT cards used to purchase food at participating stores. The Basic Needs Center is holding a session to help students learn more about the program and be a source of support.

Thursday, Aug. 31

2–5 p.m.Ìý Farrand Field
Bikes are a form of eco-friendly transportation, and bike use is encouraged in Boulder and at CU. The Bike Fest will introduce students to ways to enjoy biking and other forms of sustainable transportation. The event also includes a used bike sale, vendor tent/table outreach, bike registration, bike service, games, free food and free custom printed T-shirts.Ìý

4–7 p.m.Ìý Sewall Hall lawn
Student organizations, Greek life and the Center for Inclusion and Social Change will be attending the CUnity Fest this Thursday. Â鶹ÒùÔº can get connected with one another and find their people! There will be free food, games, music and information about campus resources.


Friday, Sept. 1

10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.Ìý C4C, Abrams Lounge
If you are the first student in your family to go to college, you are a first-generation student! Take advantage of CU’s many resources to help you navigate university life. Get connected with other first-gen students and celebrate the new semester at this welcome event.Ìý

8:30–9:30 p.m.Ìý Fiske Planetarium
Harry Styles’ popular music is coming to Fiske Planetarium. Enjoy an hour in Harry’s House, or 8KÌýdome. The production has full surround sound and live-rendered, captivating visuals.
