Searches underway for infrastructure and sustainability, health and wellness leaders

National searches are underway for the university’s next vice chancellor for infrastructure and sustainability and associate vice chancellor for health and wellness. The university’s goal is to identify final candidates during the spring semester.

Ann Schmiesing, executive vice provost for academic resource management, is chairing the infrastructure and sustainability search committee, while Llen Pomeroy, associate vice chancellor for the Office of Institutional Equity and Compliance, is chairing the health and wellness search committee

The vice chancellor for infrastructure and sustainability oversees the Office of Infrastructure and Sustainability, which includes the divisions of Facilities Operations and Services, Planning Design and Construction, Environmental Health and Safety, and Sustainability.

The associate vice chancellor for health and wellness oversees Health and Wellness Services, including Counseling and Psychiatric Services, Disability Services, the Faculty and Staff Assistance Program, Health Promotion, Medical Services, the Office of Victim Assistance and the Collegiate Recovery Center.

Both roles report to Chief Operating Officer Patrick O’Rourke.

Chris Ewing (infrastructure and sustainability) and Jessica Doty (health and wellness) have been serving in the roles on an interim basis in recent months.

“We are grateful for the leadership of Chris and Jessica during a period of transition in which we have made progress on several key initiatives in both organizations, and I’m pleased that they have both expressed interest in pursuing these roles on a permanent basis,” O’Rourke said. “Our decision to move forward with national searches for these two vital roles is based on ensuring transparent hiring processes for top leadership positions on our campus that engage a diverse mix of campus stakeholders and result in identifying the best candidates for the future of our campus.”
