CU Boulder Senior Vice Provost Katherine Eggert today announced two finalists for the position of dean of undergraduate education and vice provost.

The finalists for the position are:

  • Daryl Joji Maeda, associate dean for student success and associate professor of ethnic studies in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Colorado Boulder.
  • Lori Poloni-Staudinger, associate dean for research, personnel and graduate programs in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences and a professor in the Department of Politics and International Affairs at Northern Arizona University.

“The search committee is excited to introduce our finalists for this crucial and transformative position to campus stakeholders,” said Ann Schmiesing, executive vice provost for academic resource management and search committee chair.

Finalist interviews will take place virtually in June involving students, faculty and staff in programs within the Office of Undergraduate Education. The goal is to name a new dean by the end of June. The successful candidate will succeed Vice Provost Mary Kraus, who is retiring.

“I’d like to thank Executive Vice Provost Schmiesing and the committee for their work in selecting the two top-notch finalists,” said Eggert.
