As we wait to learn the results of the 2020 election, caring staff are here to support you. Join this virtual space to process whatever you need, in community with the aid of trained staff counselors and facilitators. This virtual space will include themed breakout rooms:

  • Self-care through art, meditation and movement
  • General processing—all emotions welcome
  • Taking action and next steps

Drop-in group conversations and activities will begin at the start of each hour.Ìý

What is voluntourism and who does it serve? What are the impacts of volunteers acting as tourists and tourists who volunteer? In this session students will gain a deeper understanding of voluntourism, explore questions about its impact and develop skills for how to be effective if they choose to engage in voluntourism. A panel of industry representatives will talk about the steps they took to get into their chosen field and industry. Hear from engineering alumni and professionals who work in government.

Crafty Buffs: Join the Center for Student Involvement (CSI) for DIY Night! Pick up the materials for a craft, then tune in to watch the virtual craft night together. Each participant will need to RSVP in advance and coordinate a time to pick up their craft kit from CSI (UMC 330). Limited to the first 15–20 students to register, so register now.

Join this in-person mat Pilates class to experience the benefits of breath work and isolated movement, including increased stamina, muscle strength and endorphins. This class is inclusive for all ranges of mobility and has many exercises that can be done from a seated position. Instructors for this class can adapt movements to fit anyone's ability level. No experience necessary!
