The Office of Undergraduate Education is encouraging instructor-level and tenured/tenure-track faculty from all colleges and departments to participate in the 2020-21 academic year First-YearSeminar (FYS) program.

First-Year Seminars are academically rigorous 3-credit courses, limited to 19 undergraduate students in their first year at CU Boulder. Theirpurpose is to engage new students intellectually, strengthen core academic skills, and provideopportunities for faculty mentoring.

Faculty from all units and colleges are invited to propose aseminar on a topic of their choice for fall 2020/spring 2021.Innovative and multi-disciplinary topicsare encouraged, and the FYS program offers possibilities for linking courses across disciplines, or forincorporating a brief study-abroad experience.A list ofcurrent seminarscan be found online.
