It wasn’t too long ago that I finished my graduate degree, and it was one of the most difficult periods in my life. The academic work is not always the most challenging part of being a graduate student. However, when combined with teaching, working, maintaining friendships and being a good partner and/or parent while completing a degree, it is easy to set your own needs on the backburner while you take care of others.

This week, it is all about you. As we prepare for Graduate Student Appreciation Week, I want you to explore ways in which you can connect with resources to help overcome obstacles and set yourself up for success. From working with ourÌýgraduate student career development advisorsÌý³Ù´ÇÌýsupporting your health and wellness, CU hasÌýmany resources available.

Be sure to check out the events going on next week, such as the hosted by the Graduate School dean and me, to learn more about how the Division of Student Affairs and the Graduate School can help you achieve your goals.

You are thought-leaders, mentors and valued members of our campus community. Please take time for yourself during Graduate Student Appreciation WeekÌýand know you are appreciated for all that you do!
