In 2017, the Faculty Teaching Excellence听Program (FTEP)听launched the听Making Teaching and Learning Visible听(MTLV) initiative, an opportunity to publish a benchmark teaching portfolio on the FTEP website. These portfolios document the intellectual inquiry and research that inform faculty members鈥� design for student learning.

MTLV is an opportunity to redesign at least one component of a course by collecting听and analyzing data from quick assessments of student learning. The innovation of MTLV, however,听is not the content of the courses听but听the fact faculty are making their pedagogy, course development processes, and their challenges and insights more visible and accessible than they听have been historically.听In doing so, faculty illustrate the significant role of teaching in their professional life.
