Tom Cech leads RNA splicing听dance
As part of BioFrontiers Institute Professor John Rinn鈥檚 biochemistry class, this week graduate students performed an听RNA splicing interpretive dance听on the west lawn of the Jennie Smoly Caruthers Biotech Building. CU Nobel Laureate and BioFrontiers Director Tom Cech听(in the tie-dye听T-shirt) played the starring role of the catalytic G, since he discovered and won the Nobel Prize for it. The balloons represent different parts of genes鈥攑urple are exons and green are introns.

The comedian, actor, writer and The Daily Show听senior correspondent spoke at Macky Auditorium this week, hosted by the student-run Cultural Events Board.
A celebration of CU Boulder鈥檚 favorite poems
Celebrating poetry's role in our lives, the University Libraries hosted a reading of CU Boulder's favorite poems.听In its months-long submission period, more than 100 entries of favorite poems were received, and 15 were selected to be read at this event.
