The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Community Engagement (ODECE)Ìýis excited to partner with the Discipline-Based Education Research (DBER) group to co-host Kimberly Tanner, professor of biology at San Francisco State University and director of the SEPAL (The Science Education Partnership and Assessment Laboratory), for the second round of Inclusive Pedagogy Workshops for spring 2018.
Two opportunities across March 21–22 will provide ideas and resources for making excellence inclusive in the classroom.ÌýRSVP now; all are welcome.
Tanner will host a seminar, Talk Matters: Investigating the Nature of Non-Content Classroom Language—Instructor Talk—that May Mediate Student Inclusion, Engagement and Learning,Ìýon Wednesday, March 21, followed by a workshop, titled Engaging Â鶹ÒùÔº and Making Classrooms Fair and Inclusive: Cross-Disciplinary Tools, Insights, and Strategies to Promote Student Success, on Thursday, March 22.
