Colorado Law's fifth annual Martz Spring Symposium will focus on environmental law and policy under the Trump administration, featuring panels, lunch discussions, a keynote presentation, an Oxford-style debate and two receptions.

A diverse set of experts听will address the consequences of new interpretations and associated litigation听of environmental regulations at the federal level听and how tribal, state and local governments, as well as market forces, are responding.
David Spence, the Herbert Kelleher Professor of Energy Law at The University of Texas at听Austin, will give the keynote address听"Climate Progress in the Energy Sector" at 1:15 p.m.
Panels will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the symposium will conclude with a reception and the public debate "Pruitt鈥檚 EPA: Lean or Malnourished?" at 6 p.m., with a second reception to follow.
The free, public debate
The Oxford-style debate听is free and open to the public and is sure to be both informative and entertaining! Attendees will be invited to cast votes pre- and post-debate.听
Paul Billings, American Lung Association, and听Emily Fisher, Edison Electric Institute, will debate the following statement:听The proposed changes to regulations and changes in enforcement priorities at the EPA will roll back gains made in recent years in protecting human health and the environment.
The symposium is free to all CU students, staff and faculty. There is a fee to the public to attend the symposium. Parking, lunch, receptions听and CLE included. The evening debate is free and open to the public, but registration is stil required.
