Study Abroad Fair.ÌýWhat’s one of the most common things alumni recommend for CU students? Study abroad! CU has a fantastic study abroad program, with opportunities in 65 countries ranging from studying to research to internships, and you can browse and investigate them all at theÌýstudy abroad fair held at the UMC Fountain from 10:30 a.m.Ìýto 2 p.m. There will be plenty of people there to answer any questions you may have, including study abroad program staff and students who have already completed a study abroad.
Ralphie’s Cooking Basics.ÌýFor those for whom college presents the new and exciting feeding-yourself challenge, there is Ralphie’s Cooking Basics, a free every-Thursday cooking class that meets outside the Alfred Packer Grill in the UMC at 5:15. Wear closed-toed shoes and sign up before the class begins. This week’s lesson is calzones, everyone’s favorite pizza-sandwich love child.
Pearl Street Stampede.ÌýÂ鶹ÒùÔº and locals alike congregate on Pearl Street Mall the night before a football game to get rowdy with music, dancingÌýand a parade led by a fire truck in support of the CU Buffs. The festivities generally happen between 7 and 8 p.m. and move west down Boulder’s favorite walking mall, so be sure to be there in black and gold and ready to celebrate.
Friday, Sept.Ìý2
Rocky Mountain Showdown.Ìý‘Tis the season for a little friendly rivalry in the football medium; your CU Buffs Football team takes on the CSU Rams in the annual Rocky Mountain Showdown held at the Sports Authority Field (formerly known as Mile High Stadium) in Denver. International Coffee Hour.ÌýEveryone is welcome atÌýthe International Coffee Hour, home of stimulating conversation, free food, and prizes to win, which takes place weekly at 4pm in the UMC Dining Room. Complete the health insurance requirement.ÌýAll CU Boulder students must have health insurance, per university regulation, so be sure to update your health insurance preferences before Sept.Ìý16. You can opt for the University’s Gold Health Plan or provide you own from your family or employer, but you will have to waive the Gold Plan if that’s the case. Be sure to get this done now!Ìý.
