Due to the ongoing weather and road conditions in Colorado, we have taken several steps to better accommodate visitors and members of the CU-Boulder campus community for Friday, Dec. 22. The university will delay opening for 2 hours on Friday. Personnel should plan to report at 10 a.m. unless otherwise notified.

The campus commencement ceremony originally scheduled for 9:30 a.m. at the Coors Events/Conference Center is being delayed until 1 p.m. to allow as many students, parents, family members and friends as possible the opportunity to arrive on campus safely and to travel both to and from the ceremonies during daylight hours. Departmental, school and college ceremonies that were previously scheduled to follow the 9:30 a.m. ceremony will now immediately follow the 1 p.m. campus ceremony; however, graduating students should check with departmental offices and Web sites for any late changes.

All travelers to CU-Boulder should be advised that roads leading into Boulder are expected to be icy and snow-packed on Friday. Denver International Airport remains closed as of noon on Thursday, Dec. 21. CU crews are working to clear parking lots on the campus, but parking may be more difficult than usual.

For those not able to attend the commencement ceremony, it can be viewed via Web cast beginning at 1 p.m. MST, using the link given below: .

I want to extend my gratitude to the faculty and staff of CU-Boulder who have assisted in so many ways to ensure the safety of our students and who have made it possible for more than 2,000 of our students to graduate on time. In addition, a special thanks to our students who showed character, resolve and good humor in taking care of each other and working with our staff to deal with the difficult situations resulting from the blizzard.
