While transfer students begin moving in on Monday, Aug. 21, most incoming University of Colorado at Boulder freshmen will move into campus residence halls on Tuesday, Aug. 22, starting at 7 a.m. and Thursday, Aug. 24, beginning at 9 a.m.
Each residence hall, including Williams Village and the Kittredge Complex, has a staggered move-in schedule to ease traffic congestion. CU Police will enforce a 30-minute unloading limit. Â鶹ÒùÔº moving into residence halls who do not have an orientation program on Aug. 22 have been encouraged to move-in later in the week to help ease congestion. However, a "limited" move-in also has been added for today, Aug. 21.
CU-Boulder Chancellor G.P. "Bud" Peterson will greet new students and families on Thursday, Aug. 24, at 9:30 a.m. at residence halls near Farrand Field.
Housing staff and volunteers will be present at three "welcome tents" during the move-in period. The tents will be located at Williams Village, Kittredge Commons and north of Regent Hall between Cheyenne Arapaho and Willard halls. Staff at the tents will provide information to students and families from 7 a.m. to noon on Aug. 22 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 24.
This week, before classes begin on Aug. 28, a variety of social activities will be available to residence hall students including outdoor movies, a casino night and a concert on Farrand Field. For information, see .
On Monday, Aug. 28, the 13th annual multicultural welcome gathering will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the Sewell Hall lawn. Volunteers will serve free food and promote interaction between students, faculty and staff of all backgrounds. The gathering is made possible by the CU-Boulder Center for Multicultural Affairs.
