A draft report of the Boulder portion of the Blue Ribbon Commission on Diversity appointed by CU President Hank Brown was sent to the 60-member commission late yesterday by the Office of the Associate Vice Chancellor for Diversity and Equity.

According to the timeline established for the review, members of the commission now have two weeks in which to send their comments on the draft back to the Office of Diversity and Equity. Comments will then be incorporated into a final draft of the report. The final report is scheduled to go to Brown, CU-Boulder Interim Chancellor Phil DiStefano and Interim Provost Susan Avery on March 1.

DiStefano, who has 60 days in which to respond to the recommendations in the final report, is scheduled to issue his response to the report by May 1.

The commission convened in an all-day meeting on Jan. 21 to discuss diversity on the CU-Boulder campus, the campus climate for minority students, the effectiveness of diversity programs and other issues. The Blue Ribbon Commission also will meet at the CU-Denver and Health Sciences Center campus on March 4 and at CU-Colorado Springs on April 7.
