The University of Colorado at Boulder Leeds School of Business will present its annual Colorado Business Economic Outlook forum on Monday, Dec. 5, at 1 p.m. at the Denver Marriott City Center.

The event at 1701 California St. in Denver is free and open to the public and is sponsored by CU-Boulder's Leeds School and Compass Bank. No reservations are required.

The comprehensive state economic outlook forum for 2006 features forecasts and trends for 11 business sectors prepared by more than 80 key business, government and industry professionals and is compiled by the Leeds School's Business Research Division.

Economic snapshots from specific counties and regions around the state, as well as an update on international trade, population, labor force and personal income growth, and a general outlook on the national economy are included in the outlook. A question-and-answer session will follow the outlook presentation.

Thomas Petrie, co-founder of Petrie Parkman & Co., an energy investment-banking firm with offices in Denver, Houston and London, is the keynote speaker. An internationally known oil exploration analyst, Petrie has been actively involved in $130 billion of energy-related mergers and acquisitions during his career.

The forum will conclude with a series of breakout sessions focusing on some of the top economic issues facing Colorado, including:
