Audience members can learn more about the nature of water Nov. 19 at "H2O," the third CU Wizards show of the season at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Professor Casey Hynes of chemistry and biochemistry will present the show at 9:30 a.m. in the Cristol Chemistry and Biochemistry Building, room 140. The show, aimed at students in grades five through nine, is free and open to the public.

The program will review why water is so important and demonstrate some important reactions involving water. Air and hydrogen gas can combine to form water, and attendees will witness -- in a rather exciting way -- the sudden light and sound that accompany this reaction.

CU Wizards is usually held the third or fourth Saturday of each month during the academic year and focuses on astronomy, chemistry and physics. Though intended primarily for students in grades five through nine, the shows are educational and entertaining to people of all ages.

Anyone with a disability or special need should notify the physics office at (303) 492-6952 a few days prior to the show. For information about CU Wizards call (303) 492-5011 or visit: .
